Custom area rugs: design your perfect space
A custom area rug isn’t just another piece of décor—it’s a statement. The right rug transforms a room, adds comfort underfoot, and pulls everything together. Whether you want bold patterns, soft neutrals, or something entirely unique, our custom area rugs bring your vision to life. At Totten's Floors, we make the process simple, helping you choose the ideal size, color, material, and style to match your home’s aesthetic. Ready to create a rug that’s all yours?
Choosing your ideal custom area rug
The beauty of custom rugs is that you get to decide every detail. You’re not stuck with standard sizes or mass-produced designs. Instead, you create something tailored to your space and taste. Here’s what to consider:
- Size: The right size is crucial. Do you need a large custom-size rug to define a living area or a smaller one for an accent piece? We’ll help you get the perfect dimensions for your space.
- Color: Bold and vibrant? Soft and neutral? Your rug’s color sets the tone for the room. If you're unsure, we can guide you toward shades that complement your furniture and décor.
- Style: Traditional, modern, bohemian, abstract—your options are endless. Whether you love intricate patterns or minimal designs, we’ll craft a custom-made rug that reflects your personal style.
- Material: Wool, synthetic fibers, natural fibers, or even a blend? Your choice impacts softness, durability, and maintenance. We’ll help you choose the best material for your lifestyle and budget.
- Shape: Who says area rugs have to be rectangular? We offer round, oval, and custom-shaped rugs to fit those tricky spaces where a standard rug just won’t work.
With so many options, finding the right combination might seem overwhelming—but that’s why we’re here. Our experts make the process smooth, helping you design a custom area rug that’s both beautiful and functional.

The benefits of custom rugs
Custom area rugs go beyond aesthetics. They serve a real purpose in your home, and the benefits are hard to ignore.
- Perfect fit: No more settling for “close enough.” A custom rug is made to fit your space exactly how you need it.
- Unique design: Stand out from the crowd. With a custom rug, you won’t see the same design in your neighbor’s living room.
- Better quality: Mass-produced rugs often use lower-grade materials. Custom area rugs allow you to choose high-quality fibers that last longer and feel better underfoot.
- Enhanced durability: By choosing the right material, you get a rug that holds up to foot traffic, pets, and everyday wear and tear.
- Comfort and warmth: A well-placed area rug makes hardwood or tile floors feel cozier, providing insulation and sound absorption in any room.
- More control over your budget: When you customize, you decide where to splurge and where to save. We work within your budget to get you the best value.
